Dr. Olakunle Sunday Olasehinde is a graduate of finance from University of Ilorin. He has a Master’s degree in Public Administration and Masters in Business Administration. He is also a holder of PhD in Management from The University of America with the award of the best overall student in Management. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (ACIB), Associate of Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (ACS), Member of the Nigeria Institute of Management (MNIM), Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Loan & Risk Management of Nigeria (FCILRM), Fellow of International Certified Risk Management Professionals (FICRMP) United Kingdom, a Microfinance Certified (MCIB), a member of the Association of Capital Market Academics of Nigeria and also NGX Authorized Clerks. The areas of his professional work experience over 20 years with different organization include his current position as Managing Director/CEO of Preferred Finance Company Limited. Prior to his appointment, his last position for a decade was Principal Consultant (MD/CEO) at GMCS Consult Limited. He was also a Director of Investment and Finance at Guarantee Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, Treasury and Investment Director at MANSBANC Ltd. He also worked as Regional Head, Business Development and Marketing in SFC Securities Limited now Premium Capital and stockbrokers Ltd. He worked as Business Development Manager at subsidiaries of ARM Group (ARM Pension Managers now Access ARM Pensions).
Prior to setting up of GMCS Consult Ltd, he was an external consultant on Financial Institution & Government Formation at Betterways Nigeria Ltd and he is still a faculty member in the consulting and leadership firm till date. Olakunle is a Certified Management Trainer in Nigeria and he has trained several people in the areas of leadership, organizational management, banking, risk management, business development and entrepreneurship development. He has attended several training both home and abroad. Olakunle areas of training and consulting activities include: General Management, Investment & Portfolio Structuring, Banking, Pension Administration, Risk Management and General Consultancy Services. He is a multi-skilled personality. He has dexterity for training in the areas of management, leadership, succession planning, corporate governance, accountability, risk management, business development and organizational policy for private and public sectors. He is also active in the areas of training people for business startup, entrepreneurship development, entrepreneurship finance and evaluation of SME loans default risk. He also advises and mentor entrepreneurs and businesses for survival, sustainability, growth and profitability. His passion for people, empowerment and entrepreneurship development in Nigeria from a global perspective has led to the establishment of GMCS Centerpiece for Entrepreneurship Development for Aspiring Entrepreneurs. The goal is to train and develop Nigerian Entrepreneurs spirit into small and medium scale businesses for the purpose of reducing the increasing trend of unemployment and poverty in Nigeria. He was the Managing Director/CEO of GMCS CONSULT LIMITED from January 2014 till January 23, 2024 before joining Preferred Finance Company Limited as the founder and Managing Director/CEO.
